The STARS Program

The STARS Program is a support program for students with Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism. It operates at the Tasmanian eSchool Northern Campus at Rocherlea. While attending the STARS program, students learn targeted skills designed to assist them to optimise their educational outcomes, especially in relation to social skills.

How to access?

Initial contact should be made through the Principal of the school at which the student is enrolled.

How does it work?

The STARS Program focuses on teaching positive social and communication skills in partnership with each student’s family and school. In the STARS program students learn individually, in pairs, alongside others, in groups and with teachers and mentors. The learning program:
  • is flexible and responds to individual potential and need
  • targets specific outcomes
  • is based on a regular cycle of review and reporting.

Students attend the STARS program for part of their educational provision at a scheduled time per week.

What does it cost?

The STARS program costs $300 per term, paid by the students base school.
