Hospital Schools Program

 
Serious illness can unfortunately seriously affect a child’s education. The Tasmanian eSchool provides dedicated and highly professional teachers onsite at the Royal Hobart and Launceston General Hospitals to make sure that learning and enjoyable educational experiences continue for school-aged patients during treatment.

Who can access?

This service is available to any school-aged patients, K-10.

How to access?

The Hospital Schools service is eSchool available during hospitalisation via a qualified teacher who is available at designated times throughout the school week.

How does it work?

The teacher can provide learning activities or assistance with school work that students bring with them. The in hospital support can help students to maintain continuity of learning and keep in touch with school and friends. Depending on the length of the hospital stay varying levels of support can be provided to best suit individual student needs.

What does it cost?

There is no cost for this program.
